The first 45 minutes as is with most Thursdays,Ben Sempai took over the warm up session followed by the following attacks/techniques:

-Ryo Kata Dori Kokyu Nage(Omote & Ura).

-Yokomen Uchi:Sankyo(Omote & Ura),Yonkyo(Omote & Ura) and Irimi Nage(Omote)respectively.

Douglas Kohai took over the rest of the session with the following techniques:

-Ryote Dori Shiho Nage(Omote & Ura),Kote Gaeshi and Kokyu Nage respectively.

-Morote Dori Kokyu Nage.

Tuesday, June 24, 2014 session at the JICC conference room

Having missed out on Thursday's session,I made sure I attended this particular session which had Douglas Kohai taking us through the paces.

To set the ball rolling,there were some warm up exercises which were quite intense given that Douglas Kohai was conducting them and after warming up we kicked off the practise session with the following attacks/techniques:

-Ai Hanmi Katatedori Ikkyo Ura(different version from the one we are accustomed to).

-Kata Gatame through the opening of Ai Hanmi Katatedori Ikkyo.

-Shomen Uchi:Ikkyo Ura and Kote Gaeshi respectively.

-Hanmi Handachi Shiho Nage.

The session ended with haishin Undo.

Tuesday, June 17, 2014 session at the JICC conference room

It was yet another Tuesday and as usual the session began with a warm up session followed by Mae Ukemi from Suwari Waza and Tachi Waza.

The following are the techniques we went through:

-Reverse Kote Gaeshi.

-Kata Gatame through the opening of Ai Hanmi Katatedori Ikkyo.

-An exercise whereby Tori would distabilise Uke by taking advantage of their "weak spot".

The session ended with Kokyu Ho Kokyu Dosa.

Thursday, June 12, 2014 session at the JICC conference room

Ben Sempai took us through the first 45 minutes of the session with the following techniques:

-Katatedori: Kokyu Nage,Shiho Nage(Omote & Ura) and Sumi Otoshi respectively.

-Uchi kaiten Nage (Omote & Ura).

-Ushiro Ryote Dori Kokyu Nage.

The remainder of the session we practised the following moves:

-Ryote Dori Shiho Nage & Kiri Otoshi respectively.

-Shorter version of Katatedori Irimi Nage.

-Ai Hanmi Katatedori Ikkyo Omote from Suwari Waza.

The temperature was in the range of 20 degrees celcius ideal for a good body workout and after a jog around the "dojo" and a brief warm up session,we got down to the days techniques as follows:

-Ai Hanmi Katatedori Juji Nage,Shiho Nage and Sankyo(all Omote)respectively.

-Katatedori Nikyo(shorter version).

The session ended with Haishin Undo.

There was a lady who brought her two sons aged about 12 years and she wanted them to begin practising Aikido.I informed her that I will need to alert the other members of our association so that we may decide if it is OK for them to join.She informed me that she will show up with her sons the next session(Thursday).

Thursday, June 5, 2014 session at the JICC conference room

Ben Sempai took us through the first one hour of the session and after a brief warm up session,he guided us through the following attacks/techniques:

-From Tachi Waza:Shomen Uchi Ikkyo(Omote & Ura) and Nikyo(Omote & Ura)respectively.

-From Suwari Waza:Shomen Uchi Nikyo(Omote & Ura) and Sankyo Omote respectively.

-Katatedori Kokyu Nage.

The remaining 45 minutes of the session were spent going through the following attacks/techniques:

-Tsuki Kote Gaeshi.

-Shomen Uchi Gokyo(using Tanto).

-Kata Gatame through the opening of Ai Hanmi Katatedori Ikkyo Omote.

The session ended with Kokyu Ho Kokyu Dosa.

I arrived earlier than usual thus I was able to do what I always love doing when I arrive early-jogging around the "dojo".

We went through the warm up session followed by Mae Ukemi from both Suwari Waza and Tachi Waza as well as Ushiro Ukemi from Tachi Waza.
