Tuesday, October 6, 2015 session at the JICC Conference Room

Before proceeding any further, it is a big welcome to Dan Sempai and Douglas Kohai who were present during the whole session. Dan Sempai is on leave while Douglas Kohai who was away for six months is now back with us and we look forward to training with them regularly.

Yet again we had a 'visiting Sensei' this time it was a lady from Belgium who is a Sandan in Aikido. She was accompanied by her spouse who watched from the 'sideline'. She informed us that she has been practising Aikido for the last 45 years! (since she was 15 years old!)

Margaret Sensei began by a light warm up session which I found in progress before she took us through the basics of Tai Sabaki.

After going through Mae and Ushiro Ukemi from both Suwari Waza and Tachi Waza, we progressed with the following attacks/techniques:

-Katatedori Shiho Nage Omote.

-Shomen Uchi opening focusing on Tai Sabaki.

-Shomen Uchi Ikkyo Omote.

-Ushiro Ryotedori opening.

It was a goood session all in all and we hope to progress further as we learn more and more about Aikido.

NEXT SESSION: THURSDAY, OCTOBER 8 @ THE SAME SESSION.
